本作は、そのデレクベイリーとパットメセニーによる夢の共演盤1997年発表作。3枚組のうち1と3(赤と紫)は1996年12月13日　The Knitting Factoryでのライヴ録音、2(黄色)は1996年12月12日・15日サウンド・オン・サウンド・スタジオで録音。
