「21世紀のビリーホリデイ」ことマデリンペルーの2004年の初期代表作にして最高傑作。ギターを弾きながらジャズを歌うという意外とありそうでいないタイプのボーカリスト。アコースティックギターをメインとしたシンプルな編成。レナードコーエンのアンニュイなカバーを始め、ノスタルジックでルーツ・ミュージックの影響が垣間見えるサウンドと選曲は、どこか白人離れしたベッシースミスあたりを彷彿とさせる。
