1974年辺りからジャズなどさまざまな音楽的要素を取り入れてきたジョニ・ミッチェルだが、76年の本作は、それらを完璧に血肉化、深化した大傑作。基本的に本人によるギター&ヴォーカルと、ジャコパストリアスによる超絶的技巧の味わい深いベースがメイン。透明感とクールな感触を貫くサウンドと相俟って何か崇高な印象を残す。
