アースウィンド&ファイアーの3rdアルバムとなる1972年発表作品。モーリスとヴァーディンのホワイト兄弟以外のメンバーを入れ替えて発表したコロンビアでの初作。本作から加入したフィリップ・ベイリーによるポップ色が入り混じったような、過渡期的な位置付けの作品。ワーナー時代に引き続きジョーウィザートの制作で、イナタいジャズ・ファンク〜ブラス・ロック感を引きずっているが、マイルスデイビス「ビッチェズブリュー」と同じ画家によるジャケットも含めて、マイルスのファンク化に刺激されていたのだろうか。一方でブレッドのM4「二人の架け橋」やピートシーガーのM9「花はどこへいったの」を取り上げ、ポップ度も向上。後者ではフィリップのファルセットが活躍する。
